Product warranty

We want to make good spouts—something well made that will last at least at least our lifetime. We also want to keep the parts from ending up in a landfill.

The guarantee

If any part of your spout becomes non-functioning or defective, we will repair or replace it with a fully-functioning item in the same or better condition.

Note the "non-functioning or defective" part. This means that the warranty does not cover cosmetic wear that does not affect the safety or function of your product. Unlike most modern manufactured goods, the parts are made by hand. They reflect the imperfect nature of their manufacture and inevitably have some flaws ( dents, small porosities in the castings, maybe a burr left over from machining).

Also note the "same or better condition" part. We're serious about keeping our products in use and out of the ground.

The finishes

We sell quite a few parts that have ephemeral finishes that change over time. We also sell parts with epoxy finishes that are meant to be permanent. However, nothing is permananet. The epoxy finish will fail. It may take 10 years, 20 years or thirty years, but it will happen. When the time comes we will refinish the spouts for you.

To take advantage of this please make sure the spouts are installed so they can be removed (they are designed for that, so it's not too hard.) Also note that the new finish won't match the existing. If you have more than one spout on your water feature it's best to refinish all of them.

End of life buy back

We want to keep the parts out of a landfill. If at some point you are remodeling and decide you want to replace our spouts, we will buy them back from you for 5% of the original sales price or two times the scrap metal value. Hopefully you have enjoyed the spouts. Let us either refurbish and resell the spouts or recycle the metal.

Limitations

We're not going to nickel-and-dime you out of a warranty with a bunch of silly exceptions. That said, please don't interpret our lifetime guarantee as a license to misuse, neglect, or intentionally destroy your hardware. We reserve the right to not replace a scupper that you ran over with the forklift, the bowl you poured concrete in, the spout you used to pound in a naiil, and so forth. We also reserve the right to change this policy in the future.
