Ross spout

This is a round plate that squirts a flat stream of water. It excels in areas of a swimming pool where one does not want a longer spout for fear of someone hitting their head. It's short projection does not tempt young hands like a longer spout would. If you don't want to provide monkey bars for your kids to hang off of, then this might be for you.

Round and unobtrusive
There are times when it pays to be a wallflower. A spout in the jacuzzi area, for example, needs to be short and friendly. Nothing shatters the relaxed feeling one gets from all of the hot bubbly goodness better than a sharp crack on the head from bumping into a hunk of metal — youch!
Yes, a longer spout provides a certain look. But, it also provides handholds and (gasp!) stepping stones for young hands and feet to test their skills. No matter how often you may remind the owners of said hands and feet to stay off the spouts - you know that at some point the temptation will be too great. You were young once. You know how this works. And, after a few relaxing beverages a few adult kids in the family might ignore the same rules they impose on their children.
Hit your target
You don't need an advanced degree in celestial mechanics and the latest supercomputer cluster to figure out how to make the water stream from this apout hit a target. Turn the water flow up, the jet goes farther. Turn the water flow down, the jet doesn't go as far. Almost infinite adjustability. What will they think of next?
Does your water feature need to project the water over a coping? Not a problem. Just open up the ball valve to get the water to jet out further. Emmm... you did provide a ball valve for each spout so the water flow could be adjusted ??? Did your fountain design change because somebody just had to have a specific pot in the water feature? Admitedly, they look cool, but they are a different size. Adjust the flow until the stream makes it into the pot. No problem.

Details
- Part is made of silicon bronze
- It is designed to be used with ¾ in plumbing. The casting is bored with a hole to accomodate ¾ in NPT pipe. The connection is a slip fit sealed with an o-ring. The pipe needs to be within 3° degrees of perpendicular to the wall the spout will be attached to - there is some wiggle room.
- A bonding lug for #8 AWG wire is provided at the back. A set screw at bottom of back plate secures the wire.
- Decorative use only. More secure mounting options available but they are expensive and complicated to install—call to discuss.
- The length the water shoots out of the spout is easily adjusted by varying the water volume supplied to the spout. Tagetting a landing zone for the water arc is a farly simple matter. The flow chart provides more information about this.
- Designed to be removable. Provided it's installed in a way that allows for this.
